Can't load any scripts in ircII

So I have ircII-2.8.2 and I'm trying to load scripts via the /load command, as well as from inside the .ircrc file automatically on ircII startup, but no scripts load either way.

This is the error message that shows up in the ircII screen:

Code:
*** /home/sentralorigin/.irc/script.irc is executable and may not be loaded
This happens with every single script I try, including some well-known popular ones and all of that.

What does this error mean? Why won't any scripts load?

Try running "chmod -x <script>" on each script. The IRC client may not let you load scripts that are marked with the executable bit for security reasons.
