can't listen "streamtheworld" net radio

Can anyone tell me how to get streamtheworld[/b] working? NOTE -- This link requires JAVASCRIPT. After some poking I found that it uses something called StreamTheWorld. Their support page is all sales&marketing with less than zero support.

I like to listen to radio stations that stream their programming onto the internet. I've lived several places and have stations in various formats that I like to follow. I also listen to local and national talk and news stations.

First, here's a working link to KLBJ.

Secondly, you need to describe the problem/post error messages... it's working just fine for me on Kubuntu 8.04.

Thanks for a working link !!!!

When I visit the home page, the ListenLive button presents
Code:
http://www.590klbj.com/stream/nowstreaming.aspx
When I select this link I get
Code:
javascript:Stream('http://www.590klbj.com/Other/Stream.html')
This includes the URL you provided, but if I select this, a serious portion of the time the stream does not start after the little window opens. I hear the intro-commercial audio then nothing.

FOLLOW-UP QUESTION: In general, how does one discover the nature of an audio or video stream so that matching codecs &c can be found?

Cheers,
~~~ 0;-Dan
If that's the link you provided, then that's the problem... it's broken. I only edited the URL to get it to work, then reposted in my reply.
Someone else might be able to answer that, however, if you open the terminal and type:
Code:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
all codecs and a lot more will be automatically installed for you. IOW, you don't need to search for anything with Ubuntu.
Cheers
