Can't launch Steam

I'm running Xubuntu 15.04. I've tried to download Steam from the Ubuntu Software Center. It shows that Steam is there but when I go to install it it says it's not. I found Steam in Synaptic Package Manager and I was able to install it that way, but when I did (I get a desktop icon and the Steam icon is in the application menu) it would not launch. Somebody told me Steam had gotten pretty friendly with Linux but I can't get it to go. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you have 32 bit libraries installed? If so, so fix from the Arch Wiki might help: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...runtime_issues
Run those commands and try it again.

Thanks Tobi. I'm pretty sure (but not positive) I have 32 bit libraries installed. That's all I've ever had (32 bit) but then I got this newer computer that is 64 bit so I don't know.

Anyway I ran the commands for the Arch Wiki site. And then I entered "steam" (without the "") in the terminal and hit Enter. The results are in the attachment.

Then I tried to launch Steam from the Applications Menu. It wouldn't launch.

Ah, yes, a common problem, I should have mentioned that, sorry: Whenever Steam updates itself it may be possible that the files that were removed by the commands given by the ArchWiki will be restored by the update. In that case you just have to run the commands again and it should work.
