Can't install Whatsapp

Since I have had no luck finding a Chromium or a Whatsapp forum, I turn to you.

I had been using Whatsapp in Chromium until a couple of days ago when I tried to access web.whatsapp.com I get a message:

"Whatsapp works with Goodle Chrome 36+.

Then it has a box to download an update.

I installed the update... and reinstalled the update, but no change.

Any idea of what is going wrong?

Thanks,

José

I personally wouldn't be installing updates from the web that present themselves to me like that. What was the name of the update file?

Anyhow, you can apparently change your user agent to get WhatsApp Web working with Chromium:

Thanks for your suggestion....but after messing around for a while I could not make it work.

So I took the cowards way out. I have Opera installed in a window with WhatsApp. Not a very elegant solution, but it works.

The coward's way out? Not at all. You use the tools that you have to get the job done. I'm a Firefox guy but I also have Chrome and Opera installed for various purposes. Firefox works well with WhatsApp Web by the way.
