can't install glibc

For some reason or another, I have a badly corrupted glibc. So I looked for glibc on the openpkg.org fileserver (I use openpkg to install the RPM's) but it wasn't there. So I looked else where and found it at ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp...9.0/suse/i586/ . After downloading I found that Openpkg couldn't install it, but I'm pretty sure that "apt" will. So I went and downloaded apt, but apt needs glibc (uncorrupted) to install.

I need either:
1.) A glibc package that openpkg can install
2.) An ingenious solution to get glibc to install with openpkg or
3.) An ingenious solution to get apt to install with openpkg
