I've just recently installed a ubuntu edgy distro, and everything is going along smoothly, but I cannot listen to StreamCast stations using XMMS for some reason.

I go to "Play Location" and enter the desired location (http://somafm.com/groovesalad.pls, in this case), and then nothing happens. Am I missing a dependent library? It works fine for all my mp3s on disk, just not any internet radio stations.

I've just been able to fire up Ryhthmbox for my various radiostations so all is good.

Still curious about why XMMS doesn't work....

I used curl to see where the media was at and got

I was able to play all of them with mplayer.

Point xmms to one of those locations

yeah, XMMS definitely plays the "child" urls, or actual music urls, but I guess doesn't support the playlist functionality?
