Can't get to Desktop; stopped at Login Page after Initial boot after install of SuSe

I installed SuSe 8.2 on a P2 350mhz desktop with 128mb of RAM, and a 10g hardrive that has windows 2000 and SuSe 8.2.

During the installation it asked me for a Login User name, and password, which i typed into the program.

After the intial boot from the hardrive, SuSe took me to a Login screen.

I typed in my user name, and then tabbed to Password Box. It won't let me type in any letters into the Password Box, thus I am stuck at that screen.

i reinstalled, and it said all files were fine.

How do I get past this page to my desktop?

type in your password, and hit enter. it just doesn't show what your typing for security reasons.
