CAN'T GET MY CREATIVE SPEAKERS TO WORK ON CentOS 6,5

I'm on a HP Envy desktop under CentOS 6.5 trying to get my CentOS speakers to work. Do I need to
yum install driver software to get them up and running?

HELP!

Sorry John VV I should have noted that I already checked that and it was set to off, but I did double check it again just to make sure.

Ondoho I wish I had a great answer, I had them plugged in to the or so I though the "speaker" connection on top of the cpu. But they didin't work.
So i plugged them into the "green" slot in the back of the cpu" and it worked! My dumb mistake I guess!
