Can't create readable pdf from latex. Images come out bad
I am writing documents and several (but not all) of the eps images I am importing have problems when I try to read them with acroread. I get either the error "A drawing error has occurred" if I am scrolling or "Insufficient data for image" if I jump to the page. I can see the images perfectly well in either ps or dvi format, however even if I use xpdf I get errors on the images. I have used pdflatex, latex dvipdf, and latex dvips ps2pdf. I get errors using xpdf as well. Also the windows version of Adobe reader gives me the same errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to write pdf documents for job applications.

What resolution has been used when you created those
embedded EPS? Try to make that higher, ideally use the same as for the final product. Cheers, Tink |
The eps files were created a long time ago so I don't know what their image size is.

I just remembered. One thing all of these images have in common is that they were generated using xfig and exported to eps files.

why dont u use lyx to create latex files.... its a WYSIWYG editor

with lyx theres no need to convert imagesn to eps... we can load jpegs/gifs/png directly

The problem is that these files are already writen including a 140 page document. I just hadn't need to use pdf format before. (I used ps before). Also I use latex so that I can write papers with particular styles, and references (I use bibtex and hyperlinks). So it is best that I use latex rather than lyx.
