Can't create large volumes with veracrypt

I've got a 2TB drive that I want to devote to veracrypt. There will be an outer volume and a hidden volume. I'm having a problem with the hidden volume creation. There seems to be a problem with the box that selects KB/MB/GB. In the GB position, you can't create a container larger than about 2GB. If you try to enter a larger number you can't proceed to the next step. Is there a workaround for this? My veracrypt is version 1.24 on Debian Stretch.

Ah, never mind. I wasn't doing it right. It's not a one-step process of just hitting the hidden volume button. You have to first create the outer volume, and then create the hidden volume.
