Can't copy paste with Kate

For some reason, I can't copy paste with Kate...It appears to me that the clipboard buffer can only hold a very small amount of data.

Would anybody know how to get around this or could somebody recommend another light editor?

What did you do, exactly? Selecting and using <Ctrl><C> new position <Ctrl><V> or selecting with left and inserting with middle mouse buttons?

With small blocks of text I have no problems....with big ones is what I have a problem with...

I've tried, Control C and then Control V....didn't work.
I've tried, only with the mouse....didn't work.
I've tried, copy with the mouse and then Control V....didn't work.
I've tried, Control C and then paste with the mouse....didn't work.

By the way, I've tried this same procedure, in this html form (for example) and had no problems...

By "big block" do you mean >64kb of text? If so I recall that there is some kind of problem with the X selections protocol for chunks larger than that. Thought it was fixed. Other editors might well work, try them.

Not even that big!!! The block that I've been talking about is less than 7k!!!!

Would you know how to configure the clipboard?

What other "light" editor would you suggest?
