Question can't copy from windows to linux(samba)

i've managed to configure my samba server on slackware 11 but i can only browse the folders but can not copy paste on them.
i've set the folders to be writable

this is how my smb.conf file looks like.

workgroup = Workgroup
server string = slack
security = user
load printers = yes
log file = /var/log/samba.%m
max log size = 50
socket options = TCP_NODELAY

comment = Home Directory
path = /home
valid users = kibe
writable = yes
wins support = yes

comment = mradi directory
path = /mradi
available = yes
browseable = yes
public = yes
writable = yes
valid users = kibe

can anyone help and point me on what i should add.

your title states you are trying to copy from Windows to Linux. if that is the case, you do not need samba server running or configured, just smbfs running on your linux box. you then need to mount the windows shares, set the permissions on both windows and linux and you are golden.

then very end of that link will give you good details on connecting to the windows shares.

now if on the other hand you are trying to get linux shares to work from windows, that is different.

Smile can't copy from windows to linux(samba)

Thanks lleb for the reply. Actually i tried something else. just changed owner of the folders using the "chown" command
eg: root@slack:# chown kibe /mradi
Thereby giving the samba user all rights.
Thanks anyway
