Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

REDHAT ES4 .php.mysql... every thing working file yesderday, As I opened my local site today as http://192.*.*.* I got followinf error:

Unable to connect to db: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

what went wrong plz help

MySQL most likely isn't running or crashed. Have you tried restarting it if its not running? What do your logs tell you?
