Can't connect to Internet when virtual machine is on with virtual network
 
I am using OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 on a Dell Inspiron 1545.
Virtual machine with virtual network 'default'... Running VM, but then can't connect to the internet from host machine but can from guest. Can't connect to Internet from host until I shut down the guest/VM.
Try to open websites, but sometimes it shows "Server not found," otherwise it never finishes looking up or just shows "New tab."

What virtual machine software are you using?

In any case, I suspect that your connection past the computer has something to do with it.

I am using Lubuntu 16.10 on QEMU/KVM
Can connect to internet from host when in Wicked service mode but not when in NetworkManager mode.
