can't change theme in GTK 2.4.x

Is there a way I can change themes in GTK 2.4.x (2.4.2 and 2.4.10)? I've downloaded gtk2-theme-switch (switch2) but when I press Apply button nothing changes. I've got a couple of themes (Geramik,Qt,CleanIce,Xfce*). Editing ~/.gtkrc-2.0 doesn't help as well.
I don't have Gnome installed.

I've figured it out

I've figured it out. SuSE's KDE Startup script forces GTK theme to be Geramik. I simply changed it to another one.
