can't boot linux after installation on dual w98

have win98 on a 10GB drive. I installed RH6.1 and now I can only boot win98 with LILO. When I try to boot linux, it goes as far as
the black "login to localhost"-screen and then the screen starts blinking, and that's all I get. It was a Custom installation and I chose
all packages. What can I do?

(AMD 1GHz Gigabyte Mainboard 7XIE4)

thanks,

wolf

sounds to me you selected a graphical install and X isn't properly working and needs to be reconfigured... try this at the lilo prompt:

lilo: Linux 3

that should boot you to a command prompt and there you can try to run Xconfigurator to get X working.

if it doesn't work, you may need to upgrade your distro or X due to redhat 6.1 having an older version which might not support your video card.
