Can't boot into GNOME.

Hey guys,

I haven't done anything that I can think of but when I booted up and tried to log into GNOME, it would "log in" but it won't load. The splash screen never comes up. But I can load KDE and XFCE no problem. I'm also using GDM for the login screen, so this is has got me confused.

Any ideas as to why GNOME won't load? Thanks!

Anything guys? I'm sure something like this has happened before. I've also discovered that it's not every time. About every nine or ten boots this happens, then I would have to restart X, boot into XFCE, then log out and go back to try GNOME.

Not sure if it is related but gvim and gedit take incredibily forever to load. I type it in the console and it doesnt come up till about 30 - 45 seconds later. Kwrite and regular vim comes up instantly. Also I should note that the delay is only used when I have to modify a system file or something that has restrictions (like php pages).
