Can't boot from the HD...
Hi.
I'm installing Slackware in a new computer with a SATA Hard Disk. I choose a "compatibility mode" of SATA to be recognized by the Kernel... Everything is ok, i can install lilo, but when i reboot, nothings happens, and it demand a boot disk... In other words, it don't found the boot information at the HD. When i start with the CD, everythings is ok. I don't know what happens.. any help? Some information: 2 partitions: /dev/hda1 mounted at / /dev/hda2 mounted at /boot My lilo.conf: boot=/dev/hda1 message=/boot/boot_message.txt prompt timeout = 1200 change-rules reset vga = 773 image = /boot/vmlinuz root = /dev/hda1 label = Linux read-only Thanks. |

NO!. /dev/hda is the HD....
I don't have a floppy disk.. i use a boot CD, in /dev/hdc |
YES!!!.. it was a fool thing... it's boot=/dev/hda ... not hda1... Thanks, i found it reading your comment... :-)
