can't access mandrakelinux

Installing Mandrake 10.1 on a new drive. It won't boot from CD so I make a floppy. Boot OK, but get box saying, "I can't access mandrakelinux Installation disc in your CDROM drive". (Matshita CR 594). Retry? Retry is no good so I hit the "No" button and get a "Please insert the Additional Drivers floppy. OK so what and where is that. I can read the CDROM on my other machines.

If you're sure there's nothing wrong with your CD-ROM drive, try booting on the CD 2 of the Mandrake distro. I once had the same problem with a previous version of Mandrake (10.0 community I think). You boot the 2nd CD and you swap back to the 1st one before install begin.
