caching download with squid

hi friends,

i want to cache updates for my anti-virus through squid. how posssible is this, pls i need to know.

Have you already installed squid in a default working setup on your internet gateway? This would be the first step. Use your distribution package management system to install squid. Chances are that it will cache your antivirus updates as well as everything else going through the gateway.

thanks for the response, but i dont think it is caching my anti-virus updates cos i noticed that when ever i boot all the systems on my network i get all my bandwidth used up.
