C or PERL or C++ For Exploits ?!!

I would like to learn about exploit coding and penetration testing in general, some say i should learn perl and others say C?
In what language are most application like nessus and nmap programmed?

I'd say that if you want to get into programming learn C. Alot of common things use C so it would also help you understand some things...Like the linux kernel

As for exploits, most of the ones I have seen were programmed in C...I'm not a programmer I just know the basics. Each language has their own ups and downs, but from being around the block a few times I havn't heard hardly anything bad about C.

Your probably wondering about C++ and C# I asked about those when I first got interested and I was told to just learn C, not that C++ and C# are not powerful, C is the master of the universe!
