C compiler cannot create executables
Oi Caras, (Hey Mates)
I'm having problem when install programs, Krusader and Snort, Seems to be that the problem are not the programs.... Any idea? From Snort I receive the following answer: [root@conect snort-2.2.0]# ./configure checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for style of include used by make... GNU checking for gcc... gcc checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables and its "config.log" says: his file contains any messages produced by compilers while running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake. It was created by configure, which was generated by GNU Autoconf 2.53. Not really sure, but you could check if you have binutils.
From this line /usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory I conclude that either something is wrong with the generation of the .o or there is no ld which is part of the binutils. |
Have a search here on LQ mate ... there's a
few possibilities, they've all been covered in the past here ... Cheers, Tink |
Thanks a lot for the responses.
Something was missing.... I re-installed (or updated)....with "developer" packages (Someone who wants to install a simple program: Must be a developer?) Regards Martin (messing with Brazilian pengüins) |
