The sound is sometimes a bit distorted on Linux, and it happened on all distro's I used so far (Suse, Mandrake and Slackware).
The weird part is that it only happens occasionally. If I turn my mic on, it gets worse. Also, it seems to be mostly related with the thing labeled as "PCM" with kmix, but it can still be heard with it turned off.
I have an Creative Labs SB Live! card, and it uses the emu10k1 module.
This does not happen on windoze (although I haven't been on it much lately to be able to check) so I doubt it is a hardware issue. Also, I've used Mandrake about 3 years ago, when the card and the speaker were new, and it happened a few times.
This is what

Any ideas regarding what I can do? Are there any specific modules for this card that don't come with the standard kernel?
Any info might help. Thanks.
