Burning Linux Problems with Buffer underruns

When I go to burn SuSe 9.1 or any Linux distro that takes 695 mb of space, I get a buffer underrun sometime in the burn process. I thought it was my hardware or software, but I burned Slackware 10 perfectly fine that only takes up 652 mb. Is there someway that I can avoid these buffer overruns with these near full disk distros? The CD-Rs that I'm using are 700 mb and can burn at up to 8x speeds.

I have a computer w/ XP on it that only has Nero installed onto it. I turn off all unnecessary processes, I restart the computer before each burn and burn at the slowest speed.

I've wasted about 10 cds already trying to get these to burn properly, can anyone help? And yes, I have googled this.

Hi.

You may want to consider next suggestions.

1.- Do not attach both the hard disk and the CD-RW to the same data cable. Each one must have its own cable.
2.- Add more RAM to your box.
3.- Remove all temporary files as well as all temporary Internet files and defrag your hard disk.
4.- Disable your screen saver and task scheduler.
5.- Record at a lower speed (4X and even 2X).
6.- Try another brand of media.

Hope this helps.
