Thanks again to everyone. I used cdrecord and the CD burned perfectly.
Also as a test I grabbed an older version of k3b for RH8 (I'm running RH9) and tried installing that to see if I could get past the dependecy problem. Wouldn't you know it, it installed perfectly and started up no problem! Anyway I'm going to take a serious look at YUM after this.
I tried xcdroast and toaster etc, but those apps didn't seem to have a nice easy option for burning an ISO as a disk image like k3b does. I didn't want to experiment making coasters all night so I was set on using either cdrecord or k3b.
