Burn CD's in Linux

Hello all,

i was using Nero on Windows to Burn images and copy cd's. This Tool was really copying everything.

Does anybody know a tool under linux that does it too? cdrecord and xcdroast didn't do the same, so i am looking for a tool, that copies and creates everything, creates vcds svcds and audio-cd's

Rh9 ships with an old version of Xcdroast

xcdroast-0.98alpha14-1.i386.rpm

is a better version , allows non-root use

just looked at gnometoaster

in KDE its
menu
system tools
more system tools
cd writer

it looks like a drag and drop type of thing

maybe the Nero of linux
don't know never used it

Have you tried using K3B? Besides a few GUI bugs I find it really nice..

you could try this in your terminal or run-dialog if it's installed (in your $PATH)

But what about... try http://k3b.sourceforge.net/ or http://cdbakeoven.sourceforge.net/

This seems to be a strong part, what i have seen so far. GUI somewhat equal to Nero (hopefully even quality of copy...) i'll try this out...even if it is for KDE. Do you know, can you use this also for Gnome?

you don't have to reinstall a program to change settings.
you can delete the config file in your home directory,
then run the program, and it will run like it's for the first
time.
usually the programs will have a directory with their name,
preceeded by a dot like .xcdroast
in this case xcdroast has a directory. you can delete that.

also keep in mind that these are all just simple
graphical user interfaces with cdrecord, cdrdao, mkisofs,
and a few others. so, all these programs are just
setting up a command line to send to mkisofs and
cdrecord. cdda2wav and cdparanoia are for making
wav files from cd's and mp3's.
