Question bunch of "location" questions

Hi all,

First of all, I have Linux Mandrake 10.0.

I have a bunch of questions such as:

"In kernel sources, find out where the runqueue structure is defined(the directory and filename)."(***)

I'm aware of utilities "grep" and "find", however, I'm still unable to find the locations of utilities. Because, if I don't know the EXACT name of file i'm looking for, I cannot make use of grep and find.

So, can you help me in finding the answer of (***), so that I may answer such questions myself? The answer need not be distribution specific, of course.

Thanks a lot from now on.

Just recursively grep the source:
grep -r "somestring" /usr/src/linux

Well, thanks a lot, but I need to make myself clear this time.

I'm looking for a way to find the LOCATION in which runqueue structure is defined in kernel sources. That is, I'm not looking for the keyword runqueue in files, which is what "grep" does. Instead, I'm looking for a way to find this location, although I don't know the file in which the runqueue structure is defined.

Now, it's clear.

Thank you from now on.

How about grep -r -n "something" /usr/src/linux
This should give you the line numbers where "something" is found.

I got it, it's my fault. Even the first answer with "grep -r" is fine. Thanks to both.
