I have mac os x 10.4.7 (Lion). Just upgraded the OS. The command line says it can't find g++, gcc, make, or even javacc (which I'm sure the older versions of OS X had) I manually looked in /bin and /sbin but none of those executables are in there. I don't even know if there is a gnu make download for mac, actually. I mean OS X is a Unix-like os running on an intel chip so I would assume that makes it compatible with Linux. Dunno...

So your actual question should be: How to install g++ on mac os.

I have no clue of the answer. But someone will know once you ask the right question.

Edit: I tried google (usually works when I don't know an answer) and the first hit was:

http://apple.stackexchange.com/quest...ying-for-xcode

I can't comment on the accuracy of it, but that gives a link for free download of Xcode 4.1.1 as its recommended way to get g++ for mac os lion.
