bug in new dvd+rw-tools 5.14
 

i think i have found a bug in the new dvd+rw-tools version 5.14. I understand that growisofs is just a frontend to cdrecord, but I use K3b to automate everything so I cannot provide an exact command line I am using....whatever K3B passes to growisofs I guess....anyway here's the problem:

No matter what type of dvd I burn, (VIDEO_TS, data, dvd image), it burns perfectly up until the closing of the disc....it spins around while it's supposedly closing the session.....sounds like it cant read the place it wants to seek to on the disc because it keeps spinning up and down with the burning red light on....then it finally finishes a minute later with a success message. I have tried 4 different types of media... DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW....all do the exact same thing. However, everything works PERFECTLY with dvd+rw-tools 5.12. Go figure. Also, could someone inform of a place to post this bug to the developers if a solution cannot be found? I will provide any information upon request...thanks so much for the help.

I don't think that the developers will be interested
in this without the actual input/output to/of their tools ...

Try to reproduce it on the command-line (screw k3b)
and then hunt them down. For all I know it might be
k3b having the problem with the newer tools.

Thanks for the reply...I'd just like to say that a new slack pack is available for dvd+rw-tools now (5.17) and it apparently fixes this problem. Make the jump from 5.14 to 5.17 for anyone else experiencing similar issues.
