bt_audio_service_open in Skype

Hi all!

I have an Slackware 12.2 with a 2.6.28 kernel.
Id installed the Skype, but I cant get the microphone to work..

When Skype inits and when I make a call a message appears in the console:

Code:
bt_audio_service_open: connect() failed: Connection refused (111)
Looking in google I read that is by the Bluetooth??
I dont have any bluetooth in my notebook, Im using the internal microphone.
I dont have any bluetooth daemons running and BT is disabled in the kernel.

In the past (I dont remember when) the microphone works fine. But in this version of the kernel and slack dont.
I compiled the kernel whith the same sounds options as in the past.

The microphone volume is set to max.

Any Ideas??
Thanks!!

skype

I have the same issue. I'm not sure, I think I had it working previously...

currently, I can get everything working fine when I run Skype as root. Not optimal of course, but it works.

This likely means, I could change the permissions on some device or another to be accessed by a user account and it would work as the user, but I don[t know what file to chmod.

Hi
I fix the bt_audio_service_open error deleting all the BlueTooth related inside of /etc/asound.conf (is empty now).

But the I cant record any sound yet. When I try this (using arecord), when I play it I hear horrible sounds and noise.

In the alsamixer, the Mic bar is missing (only show the title), but I have the Mic Boost, Capture and Internal bars, but no Mic.

i dont know how to make it to work. I remember that in some time in the past is work...

Thanks!

Skype.com has several variants of Skype available for Linux: dynamic, static (alsa) and static (oss). Find out which variant you are using (most likely dynamic, using alsa), and then try out the other alternatives. Maybe you get better results.

Debian
