Question Browsing administrative shares within a samba domain

I have samba 2.2 running pdc with win2k clients. I would like to be able to access administrative shares between windows machines on the domiain however when i try to connect it doesnt validate passwords and continue to return me to the screen that asks for username and passwords. I am unsure as to why i am not being allowed to see these administrative shares from any machine other than the PDC....

this is what i do:
in explorer i type ----: \\machinename\c$
it then tries to connect and asks for username and password, i've tried all combinations of usernames and passwords between machines and it just continues to ask?

Is there some parameter i need to change or add or disable in my samba config??

What can i do, is it possible to achieve my objectives??

nb. i can see all the shares in the samba server..
