I try to burn files from that NAS using Brasero (Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon). It works fine with Data option, but does not like the Audio disk option. When I drag&drop or add the MP3 file using the navigation window, it goes into the project list as "loading" for about 10 minutes with the file size ~3Mb.
The same file pre-copied onto the local machine adds in the project perfectly within few seconds.
The drag&drop operation works fine (within seconds) on the same computer and NAS using Mageia 4 KDE and K3B.
Has anyone experienced the same? How can I fix that?
Thanks for the advice, frankbell.
K3B takes a whole bunch of KDE libs with it, and the same with xfburn (Xfce).
Do you know any other alternative that would not require installation of another DE just for the disk burner?
I mentioned K3B, because, in my experience, it is the best Linux burning program. I have had it work numerous times when Brasero has failed with the same files and the same blank.
I stand by that recommendation. After you perform the test, you could remove it.
Of course, you could burn from the command line; it's been years since I've done that and I only did it for the experience, but here's a tutorial: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CdDvd/Burning
Actually, when I use a computer that defaults to a Gnome or Gnome-based desktop, I commonly install KDE. I don't use the KDE desktop (I generally use Fluxbox or E17), but I prefer a number of KDE applications to their Gnome equivalents and hard drive space is cheap these days.
I installed Xfburn, as it had much less dependencies.
Drag&drop from the mounted NAS location does not work there at all. Although, adding files through the internal file manager worked perfectly.
It means that the problem is with Brasero.
