Unhappy brasero

Hi,
Have a problem with DVD/RW discs, just bought blank ones, because the old ones were used with Windows, so I thougt that was the reason I could not add any files or folders to a disc. Have to back up a lot with data discs, so now I am stuck. Used CD/DVD creator to iniate the disc and under properties I checked that more files will be added in a later stadium. Burning went well, success, but when I tried to burn more files with brasero, it turns out I am not allowed, i.e. don t have permission, even as a home pc only owner ! My question is, how can I avoid this, in Settings I put things right with other media, but this doesn t work as well. With 4.7 GB discs it is really bad I cannot burn more afterwards. Any suggestions ?
thanks
miramarcos

Now looked at askubuntu, where somebody in 2011 wrote that brasero only works with CD s and not with DVD s, is this true and if so, which CD R or RW or does not matter.
Looking forward to your response,
miramarcos

You need to make sure to set it for a "multi-session" disc. Disc-at-once (DAO) or session-at-once (SAO) is bad for what you're trying to do, so make sure it's NOT set to these.
