Bothersome flash

Hey all. Just got connected to firefox and I'm trying to use flash for games and/or viewing comics (go marvel comics!). I'm not sure if the problem is related but I figure I should list all issues. When it comes to games, I'm required to log in by clicking on a text box. Unfortunately, my system refuses to acknowledge that it's there, so no game for me. It seems as if the computer recognizes all the other icons in the flash player, just not the text box.

The second problem is with viewing flash content via marvel comics. To view them it requires that you be logged in, which is fine. but when you open a comic it creates a separate link using flash. When I'm redirected to this page it seems to first forget that I'm logged in, and secondly it loses which comic I'm looking at.
Unfortunately these are some really specific problems, but I have no idea where else to look. I thought it might be flashblocker, since it interrupts the process, but when I try to deactivate it all flash content still appears to get the gray flashblocker arrow.

Does it work okay if you uninstall Flashblock?

Well, I've tried the add/remove option under apps (I'm currently using ubuntu). This is kind of a side bar comment but the linux method of adding and removing seems much more simple than windows. Anyways, I unchecked the flashblocker option, but that seems to have no effect whatsoever. Is there something more to it?

Not sure. I've never used that method to install/uninstall Firefox extensions. I always just do it from within Firefox. But if you're still seeing this (which "no effect" would imply you still are):

Then it most certainly hasn't been removed.

Alright, this is no good. I've disabled flashblocker via the applications menu. According to firefox I've got two shockwave flash versions, 9.0 r100 and 9.0 r124. When I disable the r100 marvel comics ceases to bring anything up whatsoever. When r124 is disabled there's no effect. According to firefox I've got no flashblocker in my add ons. Still getting the gray arrow.
