both xine and Gxine are not working 'error while loading shared libraries'
hello.
Im using SlackWare 12.2 with KDE 3.5.
both xine and Gxine wont load.
when I try to lunch them from the console I get:
xine: error while loading shared libraries: libsasl2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
gxine: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
any idea how to fix that?

You've probably missed all the libraries, they're in the /l directory on the CDs or DVD. It's always best to do a full install.

Actually I made sure that all libraries were checked to install.
never the less I am unable to determine which of them I need.

I've just looked where those two are:
libsasl2.so.2 is in /usr/lib
libmozjs.so is in /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.8 and /usr/lib/seamonkey-1.1.15
So it's a mystery to me why they're missing on your system. Have you got Firefox and Seamonkey?

So it's not the stock Slackware one. Don't know how you're going to sort this out, have to see if anybody with more knowhow than me notices this thread.

Thanks I made it.
I just copied all the libreries gxine wanted from /opt/firefox into /usr/lib
that worked...
then I installed cyrus sasl which had libsasl2.so.2 and I copied it into /usr/lib as well
now that I think about it I probably should have just linked it there.
thanks for the help.
