bootup list?


where can I go to pick what programs run at bootup. I kinda installed something wrong and im in knoppix now. So any help would rock.bootup

usually /etc/rc.d/
or /etc/init.d/

check /etc/inittab

it wont let me change it. I have 6 of the rc*.d I found the proc, but Icant change it eith vi as root. What gives?

in rh you have setup command to edit the list of programs you want at boot up. you can try something similar.

if that does not work then goto the rc5.d directory in /etc/rc.d
and renove the symbolic link to the program you don't want to run at bootup.
if you use runlevel 3 then goto rc3.d

oh ok I get it. rc*.d is a dir not a conf file.
