Boots straight to Linux-- no Grub

I recently installed Linux Mint 18.3 (from Vn.17.2). When I boot up it goes straight to Mint - no Grub. What is best thing to do?

Did you change the GRUB_TIMEOUT setting in the /etc/default/grub file? Or the set timeout= setting in /boot/grub2/grub.cfg ? I'd check that first.

No Grub menu is the default behavior on a machine on which only one OS (Mint) is installed. If that is not the case, a little more information would be needed. What other OS if any, type of install (Legacy/UEFI). Take a look at the link below which explains different methods. THe methods have changed with different releases of Ubuntu discussed on the page so make sure you use the method for Ubuntu 16.04 which is what your Mint release is based on.

Thank you all for your suggestions, but I have just found that there is no need for a 'Grub' menu. Why? -- because there is no Windoze installed !!! Obviously when I installed Mint I destroyed the Win install. Oh dear! Shame!
I shall start again.
