BootP faq?
Hi,
[ramble]
Just wanted to say I really enjoy the site and it has helped me through *countless* problems/questions I have had with Linux, as I am pretty much a first time user 2 months ago and now I am about a week away from ditching windows for good!! Thanks to all.. [/ramble]
Aaanyway, I am building a fileserver, and I have everything but the hard drive. Being the obsessive nerd that I am, I wanted to get the other machine to work before I am able to actually go get a hard drive. I've searched my brains out on this but can't quite figure out how to sucessfully run a BootP server that will have a bootfile that this driveless wonder can run on. I've looked at /etc/bootptab and run /sbin/bootpd or whatever, but I was wondering how /where to create a bootfile and if anyone knew where a HOWTO guide was on this. I am running slackware 9.0 on a P4 if that matters. Thanks in advance.
