LinuxQuestions.org - bootmisc failed

I installed a new gentoo system yesterday and everything runs well except for this error message during boot:

Code:

* Setting system clock to hardware clock [UTC]

* Failed to set system clock to hardware clock



* Error starting needed services.

"bootmisc" was not started.

bootmisc is in the boot runlevel. I can't run it with /etc/init.d/bootmisc start, because it says that it's already running.
How can I avoid this error and make bootmisc run normally?
