Bootmagic?

What is bootmagic like, is it any good?

currently I have 2 HDD's - a permant one with XP on and removable one with Red Hat Linux

my problem is when I have used either lillo or gurb and I take the Linux hdd dive out, the PC won't boot (it just says "L" or "grub hdd error") - so at the moment the removable hdd caddy is a white elephant

I am thinking of using bootmagic, but would like to her from other users who have a similar setup to me.

you are installing lilo and grub on the linux drive drive i.e hdd.
so if you remove the drive it cant locate the boot information and thus hangs in the second stage. you can get away with this by adding a small partition the windows drive and then installing lilo or grub in it.

all the best
