Booting Linux From Command Prompt ???

I have installed Fedora Core 4 on same system as Windows XP but both on different physical disks.
I cannot touch the boot sector on the Windows XP disk so I installed GRUB to /dev/sdb2 on the second disk which is mounted as /boot.
My question is, when I put the Fedora Core DVD in and boot from it I end up with the installation screen and a prompt, can I boot my installed system from that prompt and if so, what is the command ????

Any advice appeciated

You but boot on a separate partition?
you have to tell grub where it is.
grub > root (hd1,1)
grub > setup (hd0)
grup > exit
you have to checkout where is what!!!

Just a stray thought: could the installer be started and then just jump to the boot up the new base system step??
