Booting a floppy image with a bootloader
I'd like to boot a floppy image on a machine without any drives (floppy or optical) through lilo, grub, or anything else that will boot linux partitions and floppy images. I've used dd to create an image on another machine and sent it over to my target machine.
I found one mailing list archive about this exercise, but it didn't get anywhere. Thoughts? |
Here's a few places to check out.
http://marc.herbert.free.fr/linux/win2linstall.html Instructions after the boot.img part may be helpful here. http://marc.herbert.free.fr/linux/win2linstall.html ...and one more. http://www.linuxslate.org/help/Alter..._Hardware.html Hope some of this might be helpful to you. |
The second link was the same as the first link, and I saw no mention of boot.img.. :-/
Thanks for the help though, there is some good information there. |
