Boot up graphics

Hi

The nice pretty graphic when the a linux cd boots is *.lss, I was wondering if one can modify this graphic? I've checked out bootsplash.org but my kernel doesn't support it :-(

What is used to make an lss file?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Why don't you try recompiling your kernel with framebuffer and bootsplash? It may seem difficult but it isn't...
This howto http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=49036 could help in the kernel part if you don't use gentoo If your current kernel is working fine, you can make menuconfig and give support to framebuffer etc... But make sure to backup your current kernel!
