Boot problem with almost every live cd, X11 problem

Hello, i have been trying to boot a lot of audition and backtrack livecds
All of them hang up booting but one:
An auditor beta cd
What I have discovered is that on this one, it says X11 gives a problem, then it try to use Xfree (vesa), and it will boot correctly

Is there any command line, when i have the options (pressing f1 while the cd is just starting to boot) so i can force the livecd to boot with Xfree instead of x11?

I dont have much idea about linux...hope i was clear...

Thankyou for your time

Anyone knows the way to boot in just text mode?
So im sure the problem on booting is X11?
Im trying to use backtrack, backtrack 2, hax puppy, knoppix, and some more livecds, and they wont boot... only auditor, the last version which was released i think...
But the command to boot in text mode or XFree would be appreciated to be for backtrack2...
Thanks again

 :newbie:

Note: Xfree is X11, as is Xorg - which is more commonly used these days. They are variations on the x-windows system. It would be nice to see the exact error as it appears on your screen.

To boot knoppix in text-only mode, at the boot: prompt, type "knoppix 2"
kanotix just type "2" at the boot prompt.
slax is text-only by default.

Backtrack is a merger between the whax (slax/slackware based) and the ASC (kanotix based) security-specialist live distros... draw your own conclusions.

Thankyou and sorry for not answering sooner

I tryed both, and no luck, it allways tells me that doesnt find that boot image

here it is the 'end' of the error, now i think it must be another thing, but hope you tell me ^^

"
/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug: line 30:5509 segmentation fault $rc $1
/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug: line 36:/bin/uname:permisson denied
/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug: line 36:/bin/cut:permisson denied
/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug: line 39:/sbin/udevstart:permisson denied
/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug: line 42:/bin/touch:permisson denied
/etc/rc.d/rc.hotplug: line 71:/usr/bin/logger:permisson denied
"

I also tryed "slax nohotplug"
and "nohotplug"
and everything I poped out with... but...the cd does never find thoose boot images...

(of course all thoose orders i give are after pressing F1 just after the cd starts to boot)

Thankyou for any help!! :)

Please guys I need help... I want to be able to use Linux livecds :(

Here i post a detailed info about my computer:

Processor:

Intel pentium 3 CPU 3.40 GHz
775i65GV
memory: 1024
Bios by American megatrend, version P1.40

Graphic:
Radeon 9200 Pro sec family

And if you want me to try any livecd distro to discard errors, i will download it,try it and tell you what are the ressults (as i already told you, i have tryed knoppix, backtrack1,backtrack2,hax-puppy,troppix, and auditor. The only one which boots is auditor, but i would like to run backtrack2)
And the commands on the boot line of backtrack2 didnt work.
Any think you want me to do in order to discard errors, i will.

Thanks for any help

Never mind the others - try your experimenting in knoppix.

Is "cannot find boot image" the actual error?
The boot image is on the CD/DVD ... exactly at which stage of the boot process does it stop? Possibly the driver for your CD-drive are not present on the live CD (it happens) or there is something wrong with your drive. (what is the drive? Is it jumpered as a master?)

At 3.4GHz ... surely this is P4?
