boot-floppies
Hi to everyone.
I just want to create a linux boot-floopie. But I want to be sure to choose one that already has the "lspci" command. Could anyone of you give me a hand? Many thanks in advance. Pepito Grillo |
i know tomsrootboot disk does not have it but can i suggest an alternative?
why not grab smartbootmanager boot disk to enable cd booting? this bypasses old bios that can not boot cd drives. http://linux.simple.be/tools/sbm then choose any live cd you like Damnsmalllinux is about 50 megs puppy is also small ubergeeks choose sidux of course (heh heh) |
Many thanks,
but the problem is that I might not have cd room in some of the pcs I want to install linux. I'm gonna keep looking for a minilinux distribution with lspci command, if i find one I'll let you know. If the opposite, plz do the same. |
then you are looking for package pciutils (in a Debian system)
weird thing happened...I had a old toms boot floppy booted it in virtualbox ran command lspci....command not found google today for pciutils and toms is mentioned? I may have to revisit this post EDIT ok google was misleading as toms and knoppix or lnx-bbc mentioned on same pages and it was on the cd and not on toms. 2) I went into toms for real...lspci command not found find / -name pciutils (or lspci) -> nil hits so it ain't toms |
Basically, choose any boot floppy and make sure 'lspci' is in the initramfs image.
