Blue Screen when playing Video's

Hey I've loaded all the codec's and applications for video playback, some videos work in the browser but others don't and none work at all when using kaffene or anyother players. I get sounds and everything but the video screen is always blue

any suggestions

for debugging lets stick with testing in the player (ie not in browser). is the video ALWAYS blue? what video formats? what codecs did you install?

Video stuff I've installed are:

w32codec-all
mplayer
xine
gxine
libdvdcss
xine-lib

there might have been more, i've tried out a lot so far.

I'm running a SIS 660 Video card, and i can not find a way to get the 3-D accelerator working, i don't think that should be a big deal but could this be the problem?

From what I know the codecs are all installed properly, but I'm a Noob so there might be something I did wrong. What is the best way to check for proper installation

I looked through that and it didn't really help much.

Another weird thing I just installed DVD rip and when i clicked preview the video played with no problems?

So i'm assuming the correct codecs are installed its just that the players are not able to access them?

How do I go about checking this
