blue line at the top of TV playback, DIVX playback

hey all,

there's this weird blue line at the top of the display when watching TV and playing back TV in MythTV, and when watching TVtime. Also, when watching DIVXs I get the same blue line at the top of the movie, not always at the top of the display. In other words, if the movie is widescreen, the blue line appears at the top of wherever the movie is playing back on the screen, even if it's in the middle of the screen, so if I'm watching a widescreen divx, I see black on the top 1/4th of the screen, then the thin blue line, then the movie display, and then black below it. i've been told this blue line is a scan line. is it appearing there because of the nvidia drivers, or is it because of the video4linux drivers? please note that the line only appears when playing TV and videos, and not at all times.

thanks in advance for your help.
