Blue filter on Mplayer

Hello there
When I try to play any video file with mplayer I get the video playing, but with some kind of blue filter, I have tried all possible options such as
mplayer -vo x11 file.avi
mplayer -vo xv file.avi
And many more, I am running gentoo and I have emerged all of the posibles libraries for video playing, any ideas?

As in, the video display is a bright blue reminiscent of the BSOD? Like the infamous BSOD, a reboot usually fixes it when i have this problem, but i haven't found anything better either.
