Blogging server software

Hey guys,

For a project that I am working on I would like to incorporate a blogging service whereby users can sign up for an account and have their own blogging software similar to sites like blogger etc...

I have searched sf and freshmeat but I can only find personal blogging software which is designed for single use blogs rather than mulit-user blogs. The only app that is closely similar is an addon to phpBB but I would much prefer a specifically designed app rather than an addon to phpBB.

Does anyone know of any software that would be suitalbe for this project???

Thanks all,

Jamie

maybe you'd want to check out CMS packages like mambo (www.mamboserver.com and xaraya (www.xaraya.com) - they both have a multi-user blogging module.
i've been very much limited to using postgresql based CMS packages like xaraya as i have apps setup for postgresql but most of the packages you'd find run on mysql (like mambo and moveable types).
if you only need the blogging tools, try wordpress (www.wordpress.org).

Thanks for the links.

I really like the look of wordpress so I downloaded and installed the program, it seems to be all that I need, but it seems that when new users register they all contribute to one blog, whereas I need it to be that all users get their own individual blog. Can this be achieved through wordpress to anyones knowledge.

I cannot find any docs on this on the wp site.

Cheers guys,

Jamie
