dont think you can by IP, but you should by port. that is if you want to completly stop Y! from accessing your LAN.
here this URL should give you some help:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/use/use-17.html
looks like you can block it by port 5050 or via the URLs of:
cs1.yahoo.com, cs2.yahoo.com, and cs3.yahoo.com.
Quote:
If you are trying to connect from behind a firewall that doesn't use proxy servers, Yahoo! Messenger will automatically search the firewall for an open port, and, if it finds one, use that to connect. If Messenger is unable to find an open port, ask your System Administrator to open port 5050 to our Messenger servers, cs1.yahoo.com, cs2.yahoo.com, and cs3.yahoo.com.

so if you can open up a path that way, then you can block the path that way too.

Well, you can either hunt down every ip address for every yahoo server in every part of every country of the world... Plus, hunt down the ip address of every proxy, gateway, and redirecting service on the planet and add them to your blocked list....
Or you can forget about it because you'll never find all the ip's to block. Thus, your not blocking it using an ip address block. Since it can be configured to use multiple ports and connection types as well... not completely likely you'll get it blocked at all.
